| The Estabilishment of the WFDYS Fundraising |

Hi! It is great pleasure that you see this fundraising website. Why was this website estabilished and who will do it?
It was my idea. My name is Jaro Cehlarik, and I am president of Association Deaf Children and Youth organisation in Slovak
Republic (thereinafter ZODMSP in SR). Together with World Federation of the Deaf Youth Section (WFDYS) camp members in Spain
in 2007 we have chronicled following facts:
1. One Youth National Deaf organisation (ZODMSP in SR) had supported the participants representing one country from Africa to
attend the WFDYS camp 2007 in Spain. In which it was very infrequent for them because they gained a chance to come and discover
the world. During the last week they, the particpants from Africa has told me: " If we could not go to the WFDYS camp, we do
now as we did before and we do not respect the new opportunities and modern system of working for Deaf Youth. It is very rare
for us to see the world and its inspirations, with those we have good ideas to do things for better."
2. Many participants in the WFDYS camp had no problem to spend their money for theirs own needs such as sweets, drinks and so on.
I have noticed this and came up with an idea to collect money from many of these participants in the camp who generously donated.
In which these raised money are specifically assigned for the developing countries, so that we can pay for their participation
in the future WFDYS camps. I realised that the action and collected that night was over 800 Euros.
3. Some members WFDYS camp want to support the WFDYS by donating money from out of their own pockets.
From these things that happened during the WFDYS camp has forced me to think of alternatives to how to solve those problems.
Therefore I presented those problems to my colleagues from ZODMSP in SR. They agreed that ZODMSP in SR will assume this task
and will care for WFDYS FUNDRAISING web site until the year of 2011.
Why is it important to have Fundraising website? Many people do not know and do not have right informations how to send financial
gift to WFDYS account. At the same time he/ she can see the actual financial budget of WFDYS.
If the money are gathered on WFDYS account, it will accept the forms in how to use these as financial support. And therefore WFDYS
may pay financial expenses for those who normally can not go to WFDYS camp. In this regard this may increase the participation number
from more different countries to the camp, because normally they can not attend to the camp.
Nowadays the normal participations to the camps are from 40 countries which is under line. High percentage of these countries are
developed and together they deal with situations regarding to the Youth and come up with solutions. But the World Federation of the
Deaf (WFD) has 129 Ordinary Members (OM). So you can see there is a big difference between the participating countries and the OMs,
there are many countries have no chance to participate in WFDYS camp due to cruel financial reasons.
It is clear that these developed countries during the camp WFDYS gain many new experiences and knowledges. This way create better
knowledge how to resolve Youth situations in their own countries, however the developing countries that could not participate do
not have this chance to gain these opportunties. They rapidly lag behind and the chance to catch up these stolen opportunities becomes
more difficult.
There we strongly want to thank the fundraising recieved for allow and to give the chances to developing countries, to be able to
participate in the future WFDYS camp and receive equal chance as the other developed countries. This is because everybody can have
the same equal opportunities and together we can do better.
